Why Black & White?
I feel that there is a purity in every photograph that is shot. Just like art, if it’s good or bad, depends on who is looking at it and how they view it. No matter if a photo is shot with a phone or a $5,000 camera, each one has the chance of catching someones eye and being a great shot.
I enjoy shooting photos in black and white because they seem to tell the story based on the content of the photo. When I view a color photograph, most of the time, colors set the mood, the feel, or even the point of view of the picture. Certain colors represent certain things and can take away from what the photo really represents. Colors can trigger emotion before the real story has even been told.
Along with photography that I have shoot, I will also like to share things that I find, projects that will be ongoing, and from time to time, you’ll hear from Katie Thomas to bring her views to this catalog of simplicity, richness, and at times complex stories told through imagery and art.
Please take your time and enjoy the work I have done and share with others. I enjoy hearing from everyone so don’t hesitate to leave a comment.
